you, the player get to control kris, a teenager, who is destined to save the world with their friends as part of a prophecy, sealing the dark fountains that are prophesied to end the world. you get to team up with susie and ralsei in battle, along with many others! you go about and resolve conflicts by either ACTing or FIGHTing, how you choose to do it is all up to you. the dark world is all yours to explore, and thats the best part of it all!
deltarune (and toby fox's games in general) have held a very special place in my heart for many years now ever since i first played undertale and discovered the joy of toby's creations. the way deltarune's characters are written makes them feel so relatable and alive.. even the side characters have traits i can personally resonate with and the story is so incredibly well made. it tells its story so incredibly well even if its currently incomplete as of now. the graphics and soundtrack are absolutely beautiful and this damn game contains so much banger music istg i could listen to it for hours
i really, really like spamton. he's such a little freak and his lore is straight up tragic,, like he lost his friends, his home, his busines.. bro lost everything and it got to a point where he had to live in a dumpster, forgotten. what makes it even worse for the poor guy is that after the spamton neo boss fight, he realises kris is trying to free him and he gets so damn happy... he thinks he's finally free, just to fall to the ground, dead after how hopeful he was. i love his design, his boss themes, the way he speaks, literally everything about him he's definitely one of my favourite characters for so many reasons. even if his history is rather vague at the moment he's still such an interesting little fella. i want to dissect him under a microscope /pos
i can honestly relate to susie on a personal level with her rough past and her fellow students viewing her as 'scary' (i've had a very similar experience) and she just really makes me think of myself, especially when i was younger. i love how well written her character development throughout the chapters, she deserves to be happy i love her sm. she deserves so much better. i'm really wondering what she saw in the last prophecy in chap 4, because she genuinely seemed scared. upset. i really felt her in that moment, especially when she brushed it off. her and noelle's dynamic is also super interesting to me because susie is so oblivious to every hint noelle makes despite it being so damn obvious!!
